Choir Director

Colin Vassell is a leading international vocal coach, choir director and singer of inspirational and gospel music. He has been instrumental in setting up various community choirs. Inspired by his own journey as a kidney patient and waiting for a transplant, he is the catalyst for taking the Black living choir from its inception to BGT

The choir is pleased to have Kidney Care UK as one of their sponsors, they are the UK’s leading kidney patient support charity, providing practical, financial and emotional support for kidney patients and their families and campaigning to improve care services across the UK.

They provide support for more than 100 patients every week and invest over £3 million each year in patient grants. They provide practical and emotional support to kidney patients and their families. Their mission is to give their total support to help improve the quality of life for everyone affected by kidney disease.

Dr Miranda Brawn

Regarded by the Financial Times, Forbes, Yahoo Finance and Financial News as one of the most influential women in finance, Multi-award winning Dr Miranda K. Brawn Esq has a portfolio career as a British financial executive, senior lawyer (non-practising barrister), strategic corporate and board advisor, non-executive director, former investment banker and hedge fund sales trader, international public speaker, philanthropist, DE&I and ESG leader, success coach, media contributor, Founder and President of The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation which made UK history in 2016 and launched the UK’s first Black Women on Boards initiative.

Miranda is passionate about shaping the future of business, financial inclusion, sustainable investing, empowerment and equality while being widely recognised as an exceptional dynamic and inspirational leader. As someone who has personally been affected by kidney disease, Miranda is honoured to be a patron for the choir.

Frank Dor

Ambassador

Frank Dor is a Consultant Transplant Surgeon, Clinical Lead for Transplantation, Imperial College Renal & Transplant Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and London, UK. Frank is an active clinical and translational scientist, and a passionate educationalist.

Frank has held many positions, he served as Chair of ESOT’s education committee, as Hesperis Course chair, and is the Director of the ESOT Live Donor Nephrectomy Course, Council Member of ESOT (ambassadorship and communication, Lead of the Social Media Ambassador programme).

He is a Council Member of the British Transplantation Society, Chair of the BTS Chapter of Surgeons, Deputy-Chair of the Kidney Advisory Group of NHS Blood and Transplant, member of the European Surgical Association, Chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and UK national delegate of the UEMS Division for Transplant Surgery.

He is keen to be an ambassador and support the choir not only because he is passionate about increasing the number of Black living donor transplants, but because he is also a trained choir conductor and sings in the Fulham Camerata as a tenor.
